Governor of Punjab Appoints Prof. Dr. Syed Waqar-ul-Qounain Jaffry as Founding Dean, Faculty of Computing and Emerging Sciences, University of Kamalia

The Governor of Punjab, in his capacity as the Chancellor of the University of Kamalia, has assigned additional charge of the Founding Dean, Faculty of Computing and Emerging Sciences to Prof. Dr. Syed Waqar-ul-Qounain Jaffry. This pivotal appointment reflects the university’s commitment to expanding its academic presence in Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Technologies.

While taking on this new leadership role at the University of Kamalia, Prof. Dr. Jaffry will continue his current responsibilities as:

• Professor of Information Technology,

• Chairman, Department of Information Technology, and

• Director, National Centre of Artificial Intelligence, at the University of the Punjab, Lahore.

As Founding Dean, Prof. Dr. Jaffry will spearhead the establishment of new academic programs, guide strategic faculty hiring, strengthen research capacity, and build national and international partnerships to position the new faculty as a hub of technological innovation.

Extending his warm felicitations, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kamalia, Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab, expressed confidence that Prof. Dr. Jaffry’s expertise, leadership, and long-standing contributions in academic and research domains will play a transformative role in shaping the university’s future in cutting-edge computing disciplines.
